For over 10 years, I have been providing freelance services for those looking to add professionalism and personality to their online presence. I am passionate about connecting a brand’s unique voice to its intended audience, and turning casual voyeurs into loyal, engaged fans.

I have worked with a variety of industries over the years – everything from resorts, restaurants, retail brands, pet brands, bloggers, psychologists, start-ups, and more. I enjoy bringing my creativity and adaptability to new sectors, so I’m always open to foray into a fresh field.

Copywriting / Editing / Blogging

Of all the hats I wear, I am a writer, first and foremost. I experience the world through words—for me, music doesn’t sing without lyrics. As Flannery O’Connor summed it up, “I write because I don’t know what I think until I read what I say.”

I am a creative copywriter who delights in infusing my prose with a brand’s unmistakable voice. Whether I’m writing text for your website, captions for your social media, or copy for your ads and email campaigns, you can be certain it’s going to be pumped with personality and pizzazz. I have a background in sales and marketing, which means my copy is crafted to make readers take action on whatever it is you want them to do (Buy! Opt-in! Keep reading!).

When it comes to editing, I’m well-versed in assisting throughout every step of the writing process—whether you’re looking for big picture guidance on structure and story, or meticulous fine-tuning of your grammar and punctuation. I’ve frequently been enlisted as an early reader for novelists; I’ve provided chapter-by-chapter edits for guidebooks and other non-fiction; I’ve assisted in the development of book proposals and query letters; and I’ve copy-edited e-books, blog content, and more.

I’ve been active in the blogging world for over a decade and have written on everything from exotic bird training, to island living, to hotel and restaurant reviews, and more.

Women Who Live on Rocks is my website for island-loving souls, which I started in 2012. I have over 300 writers blogging from tropical islands around the world. All of the playful copy on the site is written by me along with over 75 blog posts. I also edit all of the submissions we receive to the site. I’ve linked a couple of my most popular posts below.

Adventures in Toucanland is the website I created and maintained during the four years that I cared for three Toco toucans in the Caribbean. All of the copy and posts on the site are written by me. While I no longer write on that site (I do not have the “Three-Cans” anymore), the blog continues to be a resource for bird enthusiasts and I’ve linked the most frequently visited page below.

Email Marketing

I provide email marketing services as a monthly package or on a project basis. Sending professionally designed emails that are in line with your brand is an excellent way to maintain relationships with your audience, build credibility, and share new content, including promotions. I specialize in Mailchimp.

Email marketing packages include set-up and design of sign-up forms, email campaign design (both automated and one-time use), design of landing pages, and design of email opt-ins for your website.
